International Congress on Alcohol Addiction
International Congress on Alcohol Addiction was held online by Green Crescent on November 28-29, 2023. Participating in the congress were 22 researchers from 18 countries, including notable names from such institutions as the World Health Organization (WHO), Global Alcohol Policy Alliance (GAPA), Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (SICAD), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), International Society of Substance Use Professional (ISSUP), European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare), Hacettepe University, Massey University and Boğaziçi University.
Prof. Mücahit Öztürk delivered the opening speech at the congress, which was held to provide the opportunity for the international community to share knowledge and best practices as well as to constitute new frameworks with scientific and evidence-based approaches on alcohol addiction. The congress, followed by over 2,000 participants, focused on 6 main themes:

Attended by experts from such countries as the United States, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Colombia and Canada new risks and dangers related to alcohol addiction, global developments in the prevention of alcohol addiction and the latest scientific developments with the international community within the scope of struggle against alcohol addiction and enable the creation of scientific and evidence-based novel and effective approaches.
